The Temptations
One of the greatest, if not the greatest, R&B groups of all times is the Temptations. Original group members included Paul Williams, Eddie Kendricks, Melvin Franklin, David Ruffin and the only surviving member, Otis Williams. But did you know that to date there has been over 20 members in this remarkable group. The group had it's early start in Detroit under the name, “The Elgins” but came into national fame under the Motown umbrella of entertainment which was started and ran by it's CEO, Barry Gordy. One of my all time favorites in the group is Otis Harris Jr. who goes by the name Damon Harris. Damon was with the group from 1971-75 and at 20 years old, he was the youngest member back then. I had a chance to meet Damon in Baltimore when he first joined the group and I can honestly say that he had a falsetto that rivaled Eddie Kendricks.
John Schnatter
What was John Schnatter's response to a question from presenter Adam Shaw about whether he was concerned about the impact of the British government's anti-obesity drive on pizza sales.
"No. Pizza's actually healthy for you if you don't eat too much of it," Schnatter replied, adding, "You can't eat five or six slices but if you eat one or two slices it's very nutritious."
The head of the Papa John's pizza chain had just finished telling BBC listeners that the UK market was a "huge priority for Papa John's International."
Papa John's has 118 outlets in the United Kingdom which is its second biggest market outside the U.S. after China.
Pizza delivery companies, as shown by recent strong trading from Domino's Pizza, had already emerged as big winners from the recession, as diners abandon eating out in favor of a pizza at home in front of the television.
