Everyone is frustrated about the continued price hikes for gasoline, but there are very few concrete answers or solutions to the problem. At this point in the game, many drivers are looking for ways to alter the only thing they can truly control, which is their own personal gas consumption. Luckily for thrifty drivers, there are many very simply ways that you can ease up on the gas, and in the process, ease up on your gas usage. If you become a more opportunistic driver and are aware of what is going on around you, there are many times when you can let off the gas a bit and save some fuel, as a result. These minor changes to your driving style can pay you big dividends in the end, as you will use much less gasoline.
Many drivers suffer from a bad case of lead foot, and not just on the highway, either. If you look around the next time you’re on the road, you will see many such drivers. Is it a result of impatience, or just bad habits? It could be both, but it is not hard to change your driving style for the better, without costing yourself extra time on the road in the process. If you are among the many drivers who is nearly always accelerating, think about whether that is a smart decision or not. If you are nearing a stop light or stop sign, do you really need to continue to have your foot pressed down on the gas right up until it is time to stop? Doing so does not save you any time, as you will have to stop anyway, particularly at red lights. There is no prize for reaching the light in a quicker amount of time, as you will have to wait for it to turn green, anyway!
Instead of impatiently roaring up to a red light, if you notice a light has turned red, take your foot off the gas. You can begin coasting, and if you are lucky, you will still be doing so when the light turns green again. Then, you can merely put your foot back on the gas and continue on without ever having had to stop. Your car will work a lot less if it can accelerate to a good speed from a “rolling start” rather than from a complete stop, so if you are going, say, 20 miles per hour when the light changes, you are saving your car a lot of gas. Like we discussed, since the light is red anyway, why would you speed towards it as quickly as possible? This kind of driving causes wear on your brakes, increased gas usage, and doesn’t get you where you are going any more quickly. The same kind of strategy applies to turns. Do not accelerate until the last minute, then slam on the brake to make your turn. Instead, coast for a few seconds, then ease on your brake before the turn.
It simply makes no sense to always be accelerating on the road. There are times, such as when someone ahead of you is turning, when it makes much more sense to simply coast until you can accelerate again (once they have turned out of the way). Sure, you could stay on the gas pedal and accelerate right up to their bumper before getting on the brake. How would this benefit you, though? It doesn’t! Since driving a little bit less aggressively will save you gas (which saves you money) and does not cost you any time, why not make a few changes to your driving philosophy today?

Great Cyclists of the Tour de France: Bernard Hinault
One of the legendary personalities and riders in the history of the Tour de France is unquestionably Bernard Hinault. Hinault was known as much for his outspoken and occasionally stubborn demeanor as he was for his considerable talent. His talent was incredible, as he won 28 stages of the Tour de France in his illustrious career. He was a gifted time trial rider as well, as 13 of his stage victories came from individual time trials. He won five Tour de France victories in his career, which only four other cyclists have ever done.
Hinault was born in 1954 in France, and became a professional cyclist 20 years later, in 1974. Two years later, his mentor, Cyrille Guimard helped teammate Lucien van Impe, to a victory at the 1976 Tour de France. Hinault respected Guimard and listened to his advice by skipping the 1977 Tour de France in order to gain more experience. In the 1978 Tour de France, it appeared that the move paid off, as Hinault overcame the Netherlands’ Joop Zoetemelk in the final time trial stage to take the yellow jersey. Hinault went on to win by 3 minutes and 56 seconds.
In the 1979 Tour de France, Hinault repeated as champion, defeating Zoetemelk again, but by a much larger margin of 13 minutes and 7 seconds this time. Hinault had won three stages of the 1980 Tour de France, and looked like he could win his third overall yellow jersey in a row when a knee injury forced him to withdraw. Zoetemelk was able to take advantage, winning as his rival was forced to sit out the finish.
Hinault made his return to the Tour de France in 1981 a triumphant one, as he won four stages and wore the yellow jersey for 18 days as he won his third Tour de France. He recreated his original accomplishment of winning two in a row by doing so again in 1982, winning three of the later stages after getting off to a great start in the prologue, and wearing the yellow jersey for 12 days in the process.
Unfortunately, Hinault was again unable to pursue a third straight Tour de France victory, as his knee problems sidelined him again. Hinault was unable to change gears effectively, and took the 1983 Tour de France off to have the problem addressed. In the next year, Hinault returned to the Tour de France, finishing second but at 10 minutes behind leader Laurent Fignon.
Then, in the 1985 Tour de France, Hinault made his last appearance in the victor’s spot at the podium, as he won while famously racing with a black eye sustained in a crash. He devoted his final Tour de France appearance in 1986 to assisting teammate Greg LeMond, although Hinault’s sometimes aggressive racing led many to question whether he was trying to win the race himself. Hinault relinquished the yellow jersey to LeMond after 16 stages, though Hinault would still go on to win Stage 18 and Stage 20.

The Greeks had denizens excelling in all kinds of trade and they had a habit of excelling in their respective fields irrespective of whatever constraints are presented to them. He wrote songs, known as dithyrambs, to praise god Dionysus out of which tragic stories began evolved.
In 500 BC, another theater art was discovered by Thespis. It involved a single actor playing various roles by wearing different masks to differentiate between the characters. Other than him there were narrators and commentators on stage with whom the actor used to collaborate. This type of theater arts was recognized as tragedy which meant goat skin in Greek. It was either named after the event of sacrificing goat to gods or after the goad skin worn by the performers. Competitions were being conducted in festival at theater of Dionysia. Thespis was the first known actor of ancient Greek.
Aeshylus, in 471 BC, introduced plays having two actors who interacted with each other using dialogue. A third actor was introduced by Sophocles in 468 BC and thus the plots too became complicated. But each actor was to enact different characters wearing mask accordingly. The masks were so large that it covered the entire face of the actor including his hair. The mask was carved with care because that increased audibility of the actor’s voice. These masks were made out of linen or cork, that’s the reason why the archeologist couldn’t find a trace of them. The sculptured statues and paintings depicted actors wearing mask this was how the information was collected. Props weren’t still were restrained from usage because the size of the theater were so large, it diminished the visibility of the spectators seated on higher levels. To make up for this, Pantomime was used by the actors. This also meant that the actors wore bright dresses and loud makeup to attract the attention of the audience. Along with that the actors wore high heeled boots and large gloves to make them more vividly visible. Stories not only revolved around Dionysus but also were based on other Greek mythological characters.
